The Lloyds Register Group is an organisation that works to enhance safety and to approve assets and systems at sea,4>Summary of the Job
The vacancies offer the opportunity of joining the LR teams in Dalian and Qingdao, dealing with existing ships as well as providing support to conversion and new construction projects. The work is varied, ranging periodical class, statutory and consultancy surveys to large repairs and conversions. The work is demanding but offers good opportunities for gaining experience. The positions are open to experienced Surveyors or Senior Surveyors. Where necessary, authorisations can be progressed after arrival; however the applicant should be confident and comfortable in the environments described. There will also be an element of assisting in the development of national staff through training and mentoring. Applications are invited both Engineer and Ship Surveyors and the ability to carry out work in more than one discipline is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
-To perform surveys of existing ships and ships under construction in accordance with LR Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards.
-To deal with statutory surveys and certification and where applicable liaise with Flag or Port State Surveyors.
-To ensure reporting in accordance with corporate requirements and timescales to achieve targets set for key performance indicators.
-To participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed.

-Degree in Marine/Mechanical engineering or equivalent level of qualification.
-A good understanding of marine classification, statutory and consultancy surveys.
-Experience of repairs and conversions.
-Commercially aware.
-A sound awareness of Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures, and an ability to be proactive in this area.
