JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for China marine business growth strategy development and execution and ensure alignment with China DSD team and effective use of regional resources. The position also identify new business opportunities.
JOB RELATED STATISTICS: N/A
JOB DUTIES: This position leads Caterpillar Marine China “Win in China” growth strategy continuous development and execution. The Win in China strategy covers all Cat Marine products and solutions prime product to product support sales to achieve Cat Marine ambition of 1.2Billion sales by 2020. This position will work with various strategy action owners to ensure proper progress and milestone achievements plus running governance meeting with Win in China sponsor to seek necessary support and remove road blocks.
The position will work with China regional support and DSD to ensure strategic alignment and leverage each other’s resources and connections to achieve marketing and key account coverage effectiveness, to influence central government policy on local engine manufacturing, emission requirements to ensure level playing field for all Cat and other engine manufacturers.
This position will develop and maintain partner relationships with key industry customers and key Caterpillar dealers to identify business needs, challenges, market trends and feedback to various Caterpillar divisions the VOC and VOD to develop their respective strategy and actions according to market needs.
While focusing on major market segment activities, the position should also pay attention on new business and technology opportunities like dual fuel, gas fuel engine plus any change of current non-assessable market for Cat products like fishing, IWW, etc to position Cat to become a major player either with appropriate product, pricing, and/or distribution channel in those markets
The position will report to Asia Pacific, Marine Regional Sales Manager
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: This position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. The incumbent will interact with high level management (internal and external) and should exhibit effective relationship building and communication (spoken and written) in Chinese and English and able to drive engagement and influence changes on both external and external customers. Typically, the role is served by an incumbent with 8 - 10 years of increasing responsibility experience, which includes time in the field with customers and also DSD experience. Good knowledge of China policy and how the government system work will be beneficial. The self-starter and results-oriented strategic thinker are also desired.
