The Lloyds Register Group is an organisation that works to enhance safety and to approve assets and systems at sea,4>Summary of the vacancy The above vacancy offers the opportunity of joining the LR team in North China as a project manager for a series of new build post panamax bulk carriers. The position is open to senior surveyors and experienced basic grade surveyors. The project management role involves directing the LR team and dealing directly with the shipyard and owner's site team at manager level and the applicant should be confident and comfortable in this environment. There will also be an element of assisting in the development of national staff through training and mentoring. The position will also involve providing support to other projects, and subject to authorisation status, existing ships in Shandong province. Applications are invited both Ship and Engineer surveyors and the ability to carry out work in more than one discipline would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities -To act as site project manager and to perform surveys during construction, in accordance with LR Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards. -To manage the relationship between the LR site team, builder and owner. -To deal with statutory surveys and certification and where applicable liaise with Flag State Surveyors. -To propose solutions or facilitate the resolution of problems encountered during the building process. -To participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed, this will include LR’s New Construction Project Management Procedures. Key knowledge, skills and experience -Degree in Marine/Mechanical engineering or equivalent level of qualification. -Experienced in classification and statutory new construction work. -A good understanding of shipbuilder and ship-owner requirements during construction. -A good understanding of quality assurance issues and applicable shipbuilding standards. -Commercially aware. -A sound awareness of Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures, and an ability to be proactive in this area. 职位要求： Key Personal Competencies -Enthusiastic and focused on client service delivery. -Team leader and member with good communicative skills. -Ability to recognise and appreciate differing cultural, commercial and technical viewpoints. -Ability to present a balanced approach when dealing with builder and owner clients. -Committed to constant improvement and the ability to implement changes as required. -Flexible, keen to learn and develop new skills.
