Greater China Cluster [GCC] covers North, East, South China and Taiwan. It is headquartered in Shanghai. The GCC Trade and Marketing team is dedicated to maximizing Maersk Line’s profitability and market position to/ China and Taiwan. Trade Managers work very closely with colleagues in cluster sales, customer service, finance; also Copenhagen HQ, Liner Operations Centres and destination clusters.As part of GCC TNM, we also host Asia Pacific Special Cargo team, with export scope for Out of Gauge, In Gauge &ampamp Break Bulk Asia Pacific [GCC, NEA, SEA &ampamp OCE clusters) to the world.The Special Cargo Trade Manager is responsible for setting ML’s direction and growth objectives for the assigned trades. We operate at both a medium term and short term executional level to translate the overall trade strategy Copenhagen HQ and drive trade components in the Cluster Market Plan and Cluster Action plan. The Trade Manager uses levers such as corridor and cargo mixing, contracting strategies and pricing intelligence, and will use standard processes and tools per the Maersk Line operating system.We OfferA very interesting position in a specialised market segment; you will be handling all the cargo that can’t be shipped in containers.An Asia regional scope [GCC, SEA, NEA &ampamp OCE exports] Opportunity to work with excellent people customer service, operations, LOC, sales, trade &ampamp marketing, etc.An excellent opportunity to communicate with the project cargo industry externally.We should add that Shanghai is a cool place to live. Key Responsibilities&ampamp#8226; Direction setting for assigned trades.&ampamp#8226; Coordinating with Terminal, LOC, vessel stowage planners, local operations for OOG/BBK cargo acceptance &ampamp#8226; Cost analysis, commercial quotations &ampamp rate negotiations.&ampamp#8226; Target setting and measurement.&ampamp#8226; Market intelligence and trade analysis.&ampamp#8226; Within our overall trade strategy, set-up Maersk Line’s approach in Asia to grow profitably.&ampamp#8226; Work with Centre teams, primarily CENSPC, to determine our pricing position, longer term contract plans, target markets, key growth cargo and customer segments. &ampamp#8226; Communication on your assessment of the market and your chosen line of action. &ampamp#8226; Ensure alignment with the operations teams on contingency actions, clear communication and information to sales and customer service etc.&ampamp#8226; Running MLOS to current standard.&ampamp#8226; Product feedback and development input to Centre. Who we are looking for&ampamp#8226; Dedication to your work is a must.&ampamp#8226; Background in Trade &ampamp Market and/or Project cargo shipments is preferred.&ampamp#8226; You will need a high level of analytical skills combined with a positive approach to negotiation and stakeholder management.&ampamp#8226; Ability to clarify ambiguity – set clear targets whilst trade patterns are changing rapidly. &ampamp#8226; Excellent communication and stakeholder management&ampamp#8226; A sense of humour would probably be a benefit.
